A few days ago Thailand Gap Internship trainees<\/strong>, Alessia and Woj, traveled to the neighboring island of Koh Phangan to spend a few weeks on their Marine Conservation Internship and Research Diver Training<\/a>. Alessia just finished her PADI Divemaster Internship here on Koh Tao, while Woj spent 3 weeks on our Koh Tao-based Marine Conservation projects.<\/p>\n

\u00a0This advanced training will qualify them for University credit and focuses on mapping of marine structures; water quality sampling and analysis; an internship in the marine laboratory; and as a Final Project- the design, planning and implementation of their own marine research project!<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The team leader, Eike, is working on his doctoral thesis in marine biology and is also an ex- TGI student having completed his PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC)<\/a> with us a few years back. We’ve just recently teamed-up with him and have provided our first two guinea pigs for his projects. Early reviews are in and the guys are enjoying themselves tremendously! We wish them all the best and look forward to working more closely with our new partners in Koh Phangan on further marine studies in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
