Not only do we get to celebrate the Thai New Year, but we also enjoy our hottest weather with flat seas and great visibility around the <strong>Koh Tao dive sites<\/strong>. \u00a0If you\u2019re taking a <strong>scuba diving internship<\/strong> as part of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gapinternshipsthailand.com\/\"><strong>Thailand gap year<\/strong><\/a>, April is one of the best months to spend here.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gapinternshipsthailand.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/thailand-gap-year.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-133 alignnone\" title=\"thailand-gap-year\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gapinternshipsthailand.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/thailand-gap-year.jpg\" alt=\"Thailand gap year on Koh Tao\" width=\"560\" height=\"265\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gapinternshipsthailand.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/thailand-gap-year.jpg 560w, https:\/\/www.gapinternshipsthailand.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/thailand-gap-year-300x141.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>April 2010<\/strong> has been no exception. If you check out weather reports for southern Thailand you\u2019ll see temperatures reported in the 33 &#8211; 37\u00b0C range \u2013 it certainly sure feels hot here on Koh Tao. Using a dive computer as a thermometer, yesterday we set it out in the sun during the hottest middle part of the day. Out of the breeze, the temperature peaked at a scorching 46\u00b0C! Yikes.<\/p>\n<p>So what better way to cool off than <strong>scuba diving<\/strong>! Water temperature around the Koh Tao dive sites is a tropical 29\u00b0C, and most days the visibility has been excellent, especially at our deeper more distant dive sites such as the Chumphon and South-west pinnacles. Visibility often exceeds 30M making for excellent scuba diving. Plus at this time of year <strong>whale shark<\/strong> sightings are common so it\u2019s a great time to be in the water taking a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gapinternshipsthailand.com\/scuba-diving-internships\/padi-divemaster-internship.html\"><strong>Thailand dive internship<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gapinternshipsthailand.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/thailand-dive-internships.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-134\" title=\"thailand-dive-internships\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gapinternshipsthailand.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/thailand-dive-internships.jpg\" alt=\"Thailand dive internships on Ko Tao island\" width=\"560\" height=\"363\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gapinternshipsthailand.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/thailand-dive-internships.jpg 560w, https:\/\/www.gapinternshipsthailand.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/thailand-dive-internships-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Over the next few weeks we\u2019ll be seeing the temperatures drop off to a more comfortable 30\u00b0C or so, with the sunny weather usually continuing right throughout summer till our annual monsoon rainfall in November.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here on Koh Tao, Thailand each April brings some of our finest weather.
